Sunday Worship

Last Sunday. . .

Trinity Choir sang a setting of “O, Love, How Deep” by Carl Schalk. Recounting Jesus’ story in 4 verses, it is a fitting anthem to start our Lenten journey. Interspersed with trumpet-calls, it juxtaposes the heartbreak of Christ’s sacrifice and death with the premonition of resounding victory in his resurrection.

This Sunday. . .

St. John tells us that Nicodemus came to visit Jesus at night in this Sunday’s gospel. This Sunday, Pr. Hans preaches about how we encounter Jesus in the dark and hidden places of our lives.

Trinity Together Sunday Forum
Forgive Us. . . As We Forgive

This week we’ll wrestle gently and honestly with the words, “Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.” Together we’ll reflect on God’s abundant mercy, why forgiveness can be so hard, and how grace can set us free. Our craft will be a “forgiveness paper chain” that names both hurts and hopes, later shaped into a cross or heart as a visual reminder of God’s reconciling love. The session will be accessible for children while still offering depth for adults.

support LightHouse Women’s and Children's Center

Through our special Lenten offerings, Trinity continues to support the ministry of the LightHouse Women’s and Children’s Center as we fulfill our pledge to sponsor a room.  LightHouse Center provides a safe home and holistic support for women and their kids as they work towards healthy, independent living.

A King Washes Feet: How to Love and Forgive Your Friends and Enemies—An Illustrated Bible Study  by Jessica Claire Bond

We live in a world obsessed with chasing titles, power, and followers; like they’ll save us. But the true King, the One who spoke galaxies into being, didn’t come with a scepter in His hand. He came with a towel. And He didn’t sit on a throne, He knelt low.

Each week you are invited to gather for honest discussion, intentional reflection, and contemplative worship in the Chapel.  You are welcome to join for 1 session or for all, afternoon or evening.

If you would like to join the discussion and/or order a book, please sign up in the Narthex or contact Dcs. Deborah.

(The book will be released on February 10 and is available on a sliding scale from $0 - $25 (the true cost of the book). Please make payments to Trinity earmarked: Lent Book Study)

From the Author - Trigger Warning:

This book is about real life. We need foot washing because we need Jesus to burst into the parts of our stories that hurt the most, and to wash us after the places we’ve walked. This book mentions subjects such as domestic violence, adultery, sexual abuse, suicide, pornography, trauma, earthquakes, death, abortion, religious persecution, and human trafficking. If these are sensitive topics for you, please be aware. But I pray that the Jesus you meet through these pages— and the way these topics are approached— brings healing. Perhaps this book was written exactly for you.
