Sunday Worship

Last Sunday. . .

Trinity Choir sang “Weave for Us a Garment” by Canadian composer and organist Kola Owolabi. The Native American prayer weaves together God and nature as we hear the story of Jesus on the mountain. Pastor Hans preached about how the Transfiguration comes forth from six days of palpable silence on the part of Jesus' disciples. Can mountaintop moments be a cheat code that keep suffering away from us? Listen to his sermon here.

This Sunday. . .

the Rev. Fred Opalinski, our Pastor Emeritus, will preach about how "the struggle between good and evil rages within and around us"--connecting Jesus' temptation, the Prayer of the Day, and our current reality in 2026.

NO Trinity Together Sunday Forum this Sunday

Sunday Forum is cancelled this week as Dcs. Deborah, the intended teacher, is on bereavement leave following the death of her mother.

New Edition of Steeple Notes

In this season of Lent, Trinity Lutheran Church invites you on a journey of contemplation and service. Explore the deep, historical roots of the hymn "O, Love, How Deep" and see how it is brought to life through the powerful, raw imagery of Matthias Grünewald's Crucifixion.

Join the "Trinity Together" forums for a walk through the Lord’s Prayer and an exploration of Lenten disciplines like prayer and fasting. Plus, don’t miss our "Soup for Service" fundraiser, Palm Sunday community prayer walk through downtown Reading, and an intergenerational Easter egg hunt filled with surprises for all ages.

A King Washes Feet

Tuesdays: 7:00-8:30 PM and Thursdays: 2:00-3:30 PM

A King Washes Feet: How to Love and Forgive Your Friends and Enemies—An Illustrated Bible Study  by Jessica Claire Bond

We live in a world obsessed with chasing titles, power, and followers like they’ll save us. But the true King, the One who spoke galaxies into being, didn’t come with a scepter in His hand. He came with a towel. And He didn’t sit on a throne, He knelt low.

Each week you are invited to gather for honest discussion, intentional reflection, and contemplative worship in the Chapel.  You are welcome to join for 1 session or for all, afternoon or evening.

If you would like to join the discussion and/or order a book, please sign up in the Narthex by February 8 or contact Dcs. Deborah.

(The book will be released on February 10 and is available on a sliding scale from $0 - $25 (the true cost of the book). Please make payments to Trinity earmarked: Lent Book Study)

From the Author - Trigger Warning:

This book is about real life. We need foot washing because we need Jesus to burst into the parts of our stories that hurt the most, and to wash us after the places we’ve walked. This book mentions subjects such as domestic violence, adultery, sexual abuse, suicide, pornography, trauma, earthquakes, death, abortion, religious persecution, and human trafficking. If these are sensitive topics for you, please be aware. But I pray that the Jesus you meet through these pages— and the way these topics are approached— brings healing. Perhaps this book was written exactly for you.
