Trinity Tidings | May 1st Edition
Sunday Worship
Last Sunday. . .
Pastor Hans preached on John 10 alongside an Iranian painting of seven locked doors—and asks whether we are the one fleeing through them, or the one who built the locks. Jesus’ answer is the sharpest relief the gospel has to offer: there is one Gate, and his name is Jesus Christ.
This Sunday. . .
Trinity Choir, accompanied by Sandra Sittler, will sing John Rutter’s “Look at the World” during the offertory. This is a joyful anthem that invites us to give thanks for beautiful world God has created for us. If the anthem sounds familiar, it was last sung by Trinity Choir for Pastor Hans’ installation service!
Trinity Together Sunday Forum
Pr. Hans continues presenting
the Draft Strategic Plan.
This Sunday’s forum focuses on the new programs and rhythms at the heart of Trinity's proposed Strategic Plan: the Gather formation events, the Discover Trinity membership pathway, the Circles program, and more. Join Pastor Hans to hear how Trinity's weekly and quarterly life will look and feel different starting in 2027, and to ask your questions before the congregational meeting on Trinity Sunday, May 31. Christ Church's 200th Anniversary
Saturday, May 9th from 2-5 PM
Our Covenant Partner is celebrating their 200th Anniversary of Christ Church’s consecration. Dignitaries from around Berks County are due to attend, with brief remarks expected from Mayor Eddie Moran and the Rt. Rev Gutiérrez, Bishop of Pennsylvania.
They will also remove a time capsule placed in 1863, that was interred when the tower and spire, designed by famed architect Edward T. Potter, were erected.
Following the ceremony, the Berks Youth Chorus will welcome guests into the church for a reception with music by Dave Cullen and desserts provided by Sweet Street. Historical displays and building tours will be available during this time.
