From the stages of Philadelphia to the heart of Berks County, join us for a special performance by baritone Jonathan Mortensen.
Experience the profound beauty of Thomas Hardy’s poetry set to music by Gerald Finzi. Baritone Jonathan Mortensen (AGMA, Philadelphia Symphonic Choir) performs the song cycle "Before and After Summer" —a moving exploration of memory, nature, and the passage of time.
Jonathan Mortensen is a Berks County transplant by way of Lancaster County and Philadelphia, PA. He currently performs with the Grammy winning Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Vox Philia Chamber Choir, Reading Choral Society, and serves as a choral scholar for Opus One Chamber Choir and for Trinity Lutheran Choir; his work as a soloist can be heard on Thomas Juneau’s “Visions Eternal” album released by Ravello Records. He has also performed extensively in New York and Philadelphia with the Juneau Vocal Alliance and the Glen Loch Men’s Chorale. Jonathan is also a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists.
